This is one of the most complicated customs I've done to date, so please excuse the length of this article, but I want to describe the process.

I wanted a dramatic, animated look to the Rocketeer character. Something to capture the stylish art-deco look of the figure. The Upper body is from the Street Fighter Remy character. The legs are from the Charlie figure of the same line. This is my first time working with the Street Fighter figures, and I must say I was really pleased with them.

The front jacket flap was added with Sculpey. The legs originally had rolled up jeans and low boots that had to be Dremeled and Sculpeyed to match The Rocketeer's boots. I decided to not created the puffy aircraft pants that the character wears. Personal choice. I never liked that part of his costume. I did leave the side pockets on the legs to sort of simulate the look. I added the straps that hold the rocket on from the gunstraps of a discarded military toy

The helmet is completely scratch built and is removable, although I don't have a Cliff head underneath yet. The helmet is created from the end of a hard plastic travel toothbrush holder. It was the perfect rounded oblong size. (Quite a moment of enlightenment as I walked through Walgreens looking for toothpaste!) The fin and details were added with cut styrene and styrene tube.

The Rocket is built from an accessory from the X-Men Evolution Nightcrawler figure. Extra parts were added from an old Gundam model and fins were added with cut styrene. It is mounted to Cliff's back with a threaded rod so it can be removed. It is finished in two metallic silver tones.

And as a final touch, I added a left-hand ignition switch on his glove. I am THRILLED with this figure! I am especially pleased with the almost anime look to the figure. Something different among my more realistically proportioned figures.
