WEDDING EXHIBIT: SUMMER 2010
P ickard
House
This summer the Ripon Historical
Society has created an exhibit of historic wedding gowns worn by Ripon
brides from the 1880s to the 1930s. The Society has almost two dozen wedding
gowns and related dresses in its collection, some dating back over 150
years. The gowns on display show some of the changes in wedding attire in
the past 130 years, most notably the movement from colored fabric to white.
