This game was pretty much settled on the first move, when the 19-ork
Vulcha mob Nazdreg had hidden under cover of nearby rocks assaulted four
of the Necron squads, including the five-man Destroyer squad, shutting
down all but one squad of shooters.

Two mobs of trukk boyz moved 24 inches to form a second wave, along with a largish mob of skarboyz on a battlewagon.

A heavy destroyer (in the very top corner of the picture) managed
to stall the trukk by the marshes, but the skarboyz decimated the
nearer squad of Necron warriors.
We were playing "Take and hold" with the center of the table as
objective, so I chose simply to ignore the Heavy Destroyer, Immortals,
and Flayed Ones behind the ruins on the hill.
Even after taking losses for crash landing into their victims, the
Vulchas won this assault by a single wound, meaning that all Necrons
squads but the scarabs had to test leadership. One group of warriors
failed and rolled sufficient to disappear off the table.

The Necrons then swarmed the Vulchas, but of course that meant they couldn't shoot!

Necron Turn 1
In attempting to shore up the flank, the Immortals tried to Veil of
Darkness in front of my right trukk, but scattered off the table.
Instant 500 points in my favor!
At the end of Turn 2, the final Necron warrior squad shot up the skarboyz and
put them on the run. I forgot the mob rule and failed every single
leadership test for six or seven attempts. This was a big problem when
I decided to assault the Flayed Ones, who reduced my assault capability
to a third when failing Leadership Tests.
In desperation, I used the Skarboy tank to shock the last Necron warriors off the
board, but this time they made their leadership and then proceeded to
shoot up the trukk boyz, who had finished off the Destroyers in Turn 3.
However, this loss brought the Necrons to phase out and ignomious
defeat.

Necron phase out end of Turn 3
All my vehicles were operative, as were three mobs, a biker mob and my
HQ units. The last two Vulchas were still at it, hewing at scarabs to
the end.
Playing a mechanized army, my main concern for this battle was the ability of any
Necron warrior to take out a tank with gauss fire. My heavy armor is
by-and-large too tough for anything the Necrons can through at it.
Several glancing blows hindered my advance but did not stop it.
Obtaining first move precluded any good chance the Necrons had to make
a proper dent in my tanks.
Moreover, there were problems with Ryan's setup. He probably would have
been better on my side of the table, shooting from behind the marshes
or from the woods. Moreover, his Flayed Ones probably would have been
put to better use shielding his shooters from my assaulters (as his
scarabs were doing on his left flank). Similarly, his Destroyers were
exposed, though in all fairness he could not have expected me to reach
his edge of the table on Turn 1. Finally, in tucking his Immortals away
to advance with VoD, he effectively excluded his non-VoD options.
In this regard, the LeMan Russ again contributed to the game although
it once more did not roll above a 2 for a shot. The fact that I had
ordinance on the board constrained Ryan to spread out his forces.
My main error was to assault the Flayed Ones with my tankbustas. I
should simply have parked my tank in front of them and fired into them
point blank. I probably should have sent the bikes to harass the Heavy
Destroyer to keep it from interfering with my main operation. These
units were stuck in back trying to justify their existence. Once again
I found my large army too unweildly to bring it all to bear.
