Groups and Activities

The Sunday Bunch Youth Group for youth from 7th through 12th grade meets the last Sunday of the month, after church and Sunday School, at about noon. Occasional special events may be held on different days and times.

Past events include a bowling, a Halloween party, afternoon at the movies, New Year's Eve sleepover, "Ultimate Frisbee in the Snow," museum trips, fishing, rollerskating, miniature golf, and swimming.

Ladies' Bible Study led by Karen Prowitz, meets Sunday evenings at 7:00 p.m.

American Baptist Women (ABW) at First Baptist, Oconomowoc, WI is a small but very active group of willing ladies who participate in the mission work of our church. The meeting is open to all ladies. We meet usually once a month on the fourth Wednesday at 9:30 AM at the church.

Our business meeting opens with devotion, secretary and treasurer's reports, followed by the various committees. Our Love Gift is an over'n'above gift given to further our missionaries at the local level as well as state and international.

We have been supporting a Korean orphan from the Holt Foundation for many years. We hear from the recipient as to their appreciation.

Throughout the year we give to Christian Center in Milwaukee to help with their outstanding work with children and adults. They usually ask for what is necessary to clothing, size etc. and we send them things especially at Christmas. Likewise we have local and international missionaries who ask for aid and we try to do what our budget allows. For them we also roll bandages, cut muslin squares, perhaps quilt blocks, whatever is asked, we try. We also have several college students we help support. All of the above we offer prayers for their ministry. To help us we take advantage of the Sentry Store and also Pick & Save with their coupons. To be active in our organization is mainly to give Glory to God for his mercy and blessings to us.
