Introduction

• You are encouraged to use this modular 4-city tour as a basis for creating your own personal travel plan.

• The tour is arranged in modules that allow the tourist to see what we consider to be the 'Best of the Best' in London, Stratford-upon-Avon, York and Edinburgh...

• ...from great country house estates to modest city houses, the largest cathedrals to the smallest church and in between you will find royal palaces and a royal yacht, castles, English & Scottish gardens, grand parks, the Shakespeare properties, museums, railways, a World War II bunker, a medieval walled city, a 443 ft high Ferris wheel and - if you get the timing sorted out properly - the opportunity to see the world's largest flower show or (Should I say 'and'?) the Edinburgh Military Tattoo.

• The above graphic illustrates some of the possible ways of combining the four modules.

• The modules are designed to allow the independent tourist the option of doing as many as vacation time and money allow at any one time.  For example, you can do the London and Stratford-upon-Avon modules on one holiday.  Then, on your next visit to Britain - pickup where you left off - complete the York and Edinburgh modules.

• Especially suitable for those who self-drive and are planning return visits, another possibility is to do one module at the start of each vacation.  This gives your body clock time to adjust (before hiring the car) while maximizing your sightseeing opportunities.
