13th November - Version 1.0 of our web site (all five pages of it) posted on the internet.

2000

19th March - Version 2.0 of our web site posted on the internet. Counter reset.
21st March - Vertical navigation bar redesigned to eliminate 'hover buttons' which were not friendly to some browsers.
31st March - 'Best of the Best' completed. Pages now appear with the 'default font' type and size that you selected for your browser. Off-site hyperlinks now open in the whole page and without our frame. Past the 'home page', internal and external hyperlinks have a uniform colour palette. All hyperlinks verified.
3rd April - Graphics added to the '31 Day Tour' page. 'Site History' is now on a separate page.
4th April - Hotel information added to the 'Driving in Great Britain' page.
6th April - Added two pages on the 'The Pallisers'.
17th April - The extremely long Advice page has been divided into 15 separate pages. Links to individual pages on the Site Index page are now displayed as a bulleted list.
19th April - Added 'The Tourist's Sherlock Holmes' page. Our favourite web sites, books and videos are now on separate pages.
26th April - Added 'Restaurants' advice page.
10th May - Modular Four-City Tour Graphic completed.
3rd June - New pages added to our Sherlock Holmes' section include the Filming Locations and an interactive chart of the episodes and where they were filmed. The Advice section has a new page on Hotels. The pages on our Modular Four-City Tour now have separate sections for each module (London, Stratford-upon-Avon, York and Edinburgh) in addition to Background Information and an interactive map of London's Victoria Street. The Modular Four-City Tour Graphic page now has clickable links for the venues. The Driving section now has separate pages for 'Before You Leave', 'While on Holiday' and the 'Recent News'.
13th July - New pages added to the 'Tours' section: 2 Day Tour, 3 Day Tour, 25 Day Tour and 34 Day Tour. Updated the Tours Introduction and Favourite Web Sites pages.
6th August - All external hyperlinks rechecked and verified.
12th September - Added 'Search Our Web Site' which links to searchbutton.com's website. Please say 'Thank you' to them for hosting this search service by giving the banner ad on their page a click with your mouse.
1st October - Added 'roll-over' effect to the links on the navigation bar. Background added to all pages.
6th October - New page added to the 'Tours' section: The 29 Day Tour.
12th October - 'Favourite (USA) Venues' with an interactive map is now on a separate page. Navigation in the 'Independent Travel' section has been changed to make it easier to find the 'Victoria St, London' page.
15th October - Added animated train to 'Traveling by Train' page.
1st November - Updated 'Driving in Great Britain - Recent News' and 'Traveling by Train' pages.

14th March - Added London time and temperature to Home page and currency exchange rate links to 'Heavy Metal' and Favourite Web Sites pages..
18th March - Added a temporary 'Travel Alert' to the Home page.
22nd March - All 1600+ external hyperlinks rechecked and verified. Added favicons to all pages. General spring cleaning and otherwise tidying up.
4th April - "Search our website" is temporarily unavailable. Searchbutton.com no longer provides a free service. Sorry, but we cannot afford service fees since this is a not-for-profit website.
10th April - Updated the temporary 'Travel Alert' to the Home page.
12th April - Completed conversion of content codes on all web pages from the old RSACi to the new ICRA (Internet Content Rating Association) standard. The link to ICRA is at the bottom of the Home page.
14th April - Animations added to Favourite Books, Videos & Venues and Driving pages.
22nd April - Travel alerts that were on the Home page and various other pages have been consolidated to a new Travel Alert page. Please Note: The Travel Alert page contents will change as circumstances warrant although such changes will not be recorded on this Site History page.
16th May - 'Search our website' capability kindly provided by Atomz.
29th May - Updated the Personal Safety, Getting around London and Traveling by Train pages.
1st June - Title headers on all pages reformatted.
21st June - Added a narrative page on Swindon's Magic Roundabout.
29th June - Added 'The Pallisers' BBC Cast, background information, and 'The Pallisers' Photographs at Sudeley Castle pages. Updated 'The Pallisers' Introduction and 'The Pallisers' PBS Cast pages.
27th July - Updated the Heavy Metal page with information on the euro.

3rd September - Smart tags parsing disabled on all pages. Updated 'Favourite Books' page.

1st January - All 1950+ external hyperlinks rechecked and verified.
3rd March - Updated information for "Magic Roundabouts" on our Driving in Britain page.
10th May - Converted all pages from 'htm' to html' to meet requirements of our new website host/ISP, COREComm. Entire website uploaded to new website host. 'Redirect' pages uploaded to previous website host.
12th May - It has become apparent that nine out of ten visitors to our website are not aware that a navigation bar is available for their assistance. Based on this, the home button now automatically brings up the navigation bar.
30th May - Updated ICRA labeling on all pages to reflect change in website's URL.
8th July - Still no joy ['success'] getting search engines to list us at our new URLs. Added an "Our Old Web Site" page to help people find us after changing our website host.
1st August - Add Site Meter to all pages.

2003

17th February - Additional information on London's new Congestion Charge added to our "Driving in Great Britain Updates".
3rd July - Belated general spring cleaning and otherwise tidying up.
11th August - Added Temperature Conversion Table and Petrol Price Conversion Table pages.
25th August - Added 'Oops! Sorry' and 'Cheers and Thanks!' to our While on Holiday - Driving in Britain page. Added to all pages the display of each web page title in the browser status window.
1st September - Recheck and verification of external hyperlinks begun. Please bear with us. It will take a while to confirm our 1950+ links.
15th September - 'Search our website' capability has been reestablished.
21st September - Completed rechecking and verifying all external hyperlinks. Our updated website logo is now displayed on all pages.
