Granville MCC Calendar for WINTER 2003-2004

Members and non-members all invited!!! SERVICE TIME--3:00 pm on SUNDAYS at First Baptist in Granville, Ohio. Refreshments and fellowship follow the service.

Our Christmas Service this year will be our regular Sunday service at 3 pm on Sunday Dec. 21. Carols, the Christmas story, cookies.

We are collecting food and toiletries for the Licking County AIDS Task Force. We are making three baskets for just before Christmas. Money or food is welcomed! We will need toys for kids of particular ages also. Please bring contributions to the service or contact Marj for pick-up. After Christmas we will take these items to their Food Pantry on a continuing basis.

JOINT Bible Study with New Creation MCC every Friday night!

Ann and Marj, along with Methodist Theological School Seminary student Gail Simond, are leading a Disciple group in Columbus on Fridays . "Disciple" is a serious Bible study that asks for every-night reading and study from a workbook everyone is given. (Some of us do all the week's reading in two days, but that is not recommended!) There are maps available, and a video of a Bible scholar talking about the lesson every week. The pay-off is greatly increased Bible knowledge, a close-knit community and prayer group, and a life challenged to really LIVE the Word. This group started in September, but we have room for one or two others. We meet in homes of members. Refreshments have been awesome! No prior Bible knowledge is required. Some of our members have studied for many years, some are newbies to the Bible.

We had ourWorld AIDS Day Remembrance Service at Tradewinds Bar in downtown Columbus on Dec.3. Our connection with the Leather Community is strong. We are planning to make a basket for the Centurian's Teddy Bear Run, which auctions baskets off for contributions to AIDS agencies such as Camp Sunrise, a week-long summer camp for children affected by AIDS.

We are also connected with the Transgender community. Write for more infomation.
