One force ambushes another that is hurrying along a way.
This scenario is played on a 4x4 board. As usual, the more terrain for these small battles, the better. For this scenario, there should be a road or a clearing through the terrain in the middle of the board.
Determine which player is Ambushed! This player must scatter his models evenly along the entire length of the road. For example, if he has eight models, they must be placed every six inches.
The ambushing player divides his force into two numerically equal halves. One half is placed on each flanking side, normally six inches from the edge. If the Ambushed! player has cavalry models but the ambushing player does not, the ambushing player may set up twelve inches from the edge. If the ambushing player has cavalry models but the Ambushed! player does not, the ambushing models do not place on the board, but enter first turn from the edge.
The ambushing player has priority first turn.
