Fr. Tim's Cyber Cathedral

Greetings and Welcome to my Web Page.

Two official "Pastor Pictures" have been taken during my time at Blessed Sacrament. Can you tell the difference?

I have been Pastor here since January 1, 1996. The years since my arrival here have gone quickly. But we have accomplished a lot.  If all goes well, I should be here until I finish 12 years, with a transfer to a new assignment in July 2008.

Blessed Sacrament Parish celebrated100 years as a parish in 2004-2005.

Blessed Sacrament School observed its Centennial in a new building 2005-2006.

1905 and 1955.

Pope John Paul II suggested a different theme each year in preparation for the Jubilee of 2000.

Then, we as a parish prepared for our Centennial, from April 2004 until the Spring of 2005, by considering particular themes. We found out we were being formed as a Parish in April 1904.

The School opened in September 1905, and thus the School's Centennial began September 2005.  Since the Centennial School year continued until June 2006, that means we had two and a half years to celebrate!

As my time at Blessed Sacrament is coming to its close, I have continued the practice of focusing on particular themes:

        2006    Family -- 2007 Faith -- 2008 Vocations

Our Church is always beautiful, but it is especially so at Christmas time. Here's our Christmas Creche in 2006.

The One we adore is the Lord Himself.

Our Blessed Sacrament School Children sang at the local Courthouse at the Holiday Lighting ceremony. Of course, our songs were about Christmas!

The Courthouse Lights are truly lovely.

You might want to meet my family. We all gather at my place each year for Thanksgiving. I started the custom of hosting my family for that celebration several years back. We are up to a crowd of about thirty when everyone is in town. It takes a large rectory and two turkeys to handle us all.

Here's a snapshot of the Hayes clan in November 2006 (the Monday after Thanksgiving) when all the "originals" were together for the funeral of our Aunt Betty Bente in Pittsburgh:

I grew up as the oldest of nine, with six brothers
and one sister and a sister in heaven.
