We never put our - or anyone else's - home address and telephone number on a luggage tag or in the luggage. Why would one let strangers know where you live and that you will be away? We use an 'in care of' address and telephone number of our place of employment or (if they have been asked first) our travel agent's office.
Similarly, we never have a taxi or limo service pick us up at our home. We always leave from another location. When returning by taxi or limo, when the driver collects us ['picks us up'], we initially give the name of the town - not the exact address - to which we are going.
If you are a first-timer going on a group tour with restrictions on the size and quantity of luggage, suggest packing your suitcase at least a fortnight ['two weeks'] before you leave. That way, you will avoid the last minute panic, 'It Won't All Fit In !!!'
You have probably already heard all of the tips about not bringing too much. Here is a corollary... plan to have enough space in your luggage and especially your carry-on's for the souvenirs you are bringing home.
Ask yourself, 'How embarrassed would I be if my suitcase accidentally opened in the airport?' and 'If it popped open, would I be able to get all that stuff back inside?' Consider using a luggage strap or (that old favourite) gaffer tape ['duct tape'] to keep your suitcase closed. It will also make for easy visual identification at the airport baggage carousel... all bags do tend to look alike, don't they. [Note the use of the typical British rhetorical interrogative buried in a declarative sentence.]
