Excluding stores, shops, restaurants and pubs, the last time we counted there were over 470 places to visit in and around London.  Ask five people for a 'must see' list and you will get five answers. Ask ten and... well, you know the rest.  This falls in the category of 'knowledgeable people will differ in their opinions on this subject'.  Here are our favourites ['favorites']...

• If you have only one day,  these are the 'basics' to give you that 'pinch me I'm in London' feeling.

  • Cabinet War Rooms (for history buffs, optional for others.)
  • No. 10 Downing Street (alternate link)  Outside only.  Unless, of course, you personally know the PM ['Prime Minister'] in which case you may be invited for afternoon tea.
