A Not So Elementary List of Filming Locations

Episodes of Granada Television's Sherlock Holmes were videotaped at several, separate locations...  a garden from here, a drawing room from there, and so on.  This technique obscures the identity of the locations and thus avoids the specific house or garden taking precedence over the story line.

Most of the filming locations are venues that are open to the public.  Wherever possible, we have provided a link to a website for each venue.

The list of venues on this page is arranged geographically.  On our 'Episodes Graphic' page the venues are organised by the televised episode in which they appeared.

 The Granada Television Studios are located in Manchester, England.  Little wonder, then,  that nearby locations in Cheshire, Liverpool and Manchester predominate in the producers' choice of filming locations.
