Organic Foods One of the principles of organic farming is diversity. This means that many different creatures and plants are grown or encouraged. The Flying J Farm grows corn, soybeans, wheat, and hay in a four-season rotation and offers the first three to the organic commodity market. Hay is used for the cows and horses. A small herd of beef cows is included because they provide diversity and fertilizer for the grain crops, they occasionally fit into the crop rotation for weed control, they are of interest to urban guests and, grown chemical and hormone free, they represent a healthier source of food than conventional beef for those who must eat meat. The Flying J Farm is blessed with hundreds of sugar maple trees that provide sap for the sweetest crop raised. Maple syrup is available on the farm all year round. In season, the following fruits, vegetables and grains for purchase at the farm: Fresh
