Aviation Psychology Consulting

 Dr. Jensen has over 30 years of experience in the field of aviation human factors, 22 as a professor of aviation at the Ohio State University. He has written two books, Human Factors for General Aviation, and Pilot Judgment and Crew Resource Management. His specialties are cockpit display design and pilot/crew decision-making. He is the founder and editor of the International Journal of Aviation Psychology.

 Dr. Jensen has convened the International Symposium on Aviation Psychology every two years since 1981. This meeting has become the corner stone event for scientists, pilots, and government people from around the world. The meeting regularly draws 700 people from 35 countries. There are around 300 speakers at this four-day event.

For the first eleven meetings, the Symposium was held in Columbus. However, the next Symposium will be held in Dayton, Ohio with sponsorship from Wright State University and Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. This Symposium is a part of the year-long centennial celebration of the Wright Brother’s first flight in Dayton in 2003. The banquet will be held in the US Air Force Museum among the WW II aircraft. 12th International Symposium on Aviation Psychology

April 14-17, 2003

We are pleased to announce the continuation of the International Symposium
on Aviation Psychology and, especially, that the 12th renewal will be held
in the Dayton Convention Center as a part of the year-long Centennial
Celebration of the Wright Brother's First Flight. Wright State University
will be the host with support from the Wright-Patterson AFB and the
Inventing Flight Committee. Included in the program will be a banquet in
the US Air Force Museum among the old aircraft exhibits.

You are invited to participate in this exciting event as a paper, workshop,
or poster presenter in any of the major topics in the field including,
cockpit and air traffic control design, crew management, cognitive
processes, physiological factors, stress and fatigue, communication,
cultural factors, simulation, pilot selection and/or training, etc. You may
offer a presentation either individually or as a full session of several
papers or as a panel discussion.

The deadline for abstracts is July 15, 2002.
