Comments: I was assigned to MACV Team 24 G3 from 11/68 to 1/70. Looking for WO Magnan from Florida assigned to a slick company near Kontum. We bumped into each walking down the street at Fort Polk for a minute. He then turns up in Kontum. Used to take me contour flying. What a blast!

Comments: Served with 361st Pink Panthers from Jan 71 to Jan 72 as a crew chief on a few of the SNAKES as well as being the flight line TI. Went on to become a Huey pilot myself. Retired after 4 more years of active duty and 20 in the USAR.

Would like to get in touch with WILCHER, POTTER, ROWAN, WOODARD, SNITCHLER, COOPER, PALAMO.

The best tour I ever pulled was with the 361st.

Comments: I served with the 57th AHC from June 1972 to March 1973, Call sign Gladiator 26. I was the A/C for the last American helicopter to depart Holloway before the Vietnamese stripped it clean. We carried the last load of the 17th Aviation Group's maps and classified documents to Nha Trang. The 57th' final mission was the POW/MIA Homecoming Mission. But it was not meant to be.

I was also the PBO for the 57th and closed the books on this great outfit's final chapter.

Thanks to your site, I have already found some old friends who came in country on the same day I did but have not seen or heard from in almost 28 years! Thanks for putting this site together and giving us a chance to find old friends and memories.

Comments: I was with the 604th from 1/70 to 12/70. Lived in the barracks next to the Mess hall (that was some lousy food) I dont remember everything but a few things are hard to forget: the smell, the heat, the monsoon season, mosquitoes, a sprinkling of Rockets and motars to keep things interesting, and of course, the friends I made. I know you all can relate to this: Every time for the last 30 years, each time I hear a Hueys rotorblades I get a rush and a flashback. Glad to see so many guys alive and OK.

Comments: I was in the 444 Trans Co of the 27th Trans Bn. We had two convoys and sometimes more every day to Pleiku from Qui-Nhon. I was a convoy commander and I often had trucks in my convoys going to camp Holloway with POL and Ammo. We had guntrucks for security but it was great knowing you guys were always there ready to help out in the ambushes on the road. and sometimes we had air cover. This is a great site. Please check out our site. I am going to tell all of our members about this site. Thanks.

Comments: Thanks for the great site. I was with the 330th RRC in Pleiku 67-68. Was on guard duty on bunker facing Camp Holloway Christmas Night during cease fire when we heard Charlie moving from the Rock Quarry toward you. Two nights or so later they really let you have it. I am looking for a Dave Bailey 31E20 radio repair that I went to school with me at Ft. Gordon, Ga. He was with a chopper unit (don't know which) but saw him down at Dong Ba Thin across from Cam Ranh. Think that was his Btn. because he was there to ETS. I left Pleiku and went to a 16 man Det just south of the chopper unit at Dodge City, Dong Ba Thin and was there the night a Sapper team got in and blew up some of your choppers. The Air Base and the Korean Unit also got hit bad that night. Any help with the name of Dave's Unit or locating him would be appreciated. Thanks again "Barney"

Comments: I was a Crew Chief on CV-2s, stationed at Qui Nhon from May 66 to January 67. Then went up to Pleiku with the 219th Recon Airplane Co. (Headhunters) until May 67. We were hit the first three nights I was there. Lost some "Birddogs" too. I was just a kid. Hard to believe that all happened a lifetime ago. Where did it go? I would love to hear from anyone in the war, about anything. But especially about the 92nd or 219th. Thanks to you all.

Comments: Going over my C-141 Logbook, I noted a visit to Pleiku on Dec 25th, 1972. I recall (correct me) that it was pretty much abandoned, or at least not overly manned in that we left the weight and balance under the door of a small "outhouse" since there was no one around. I remember the R/W as having extensive impact crater repairs, and my log says it was 6M' x150 wide. I had just checked out as aircraft commander as a 1st Lt., and am sure that much was going on that I was not aware of. The night before, going Clark to VVVS, we had held at FL350 for 2 hrs over Saigon, because MAC was concerned the status of cease fire over Christmas would make landing on the Eve at night, dangerous. All that time, Pan Am, Braniff and Flying Tigers operated normally.

Comments: Found the site through an old Headhunter friend........... served 67-68 at Holloway...many good and some not so good memories....... wondering where all those good friends have gone. Stan Irvin, Garry Forrest, Bob Housley, Willy Campbell, Bobby Joe Gray, Burt St. John, Tim deBord , little and big Stanks............... where are you now, but I must tell that after having left Vietnam 30 years ago I have recently returned from a month long bicycle trip with our oldest daughter, riding from Saigon to Hanoi, and with joy in my heart I can say that the wounds there, if not here, are healed................ go vets, if you can and revisit the place that will never completely leave your heart, but that is still full of wonder, and wonderful people......remember why we we went there, and forgive most of all ourselves.
